I moved up here in Aug to stay with family, but the landlord 'wants to remodel' so we are now homeless. I have worked in banks, insurance companies, and even was a minister, but at the moment my health has left me without work.

I am single, christian, quiet, friendly, have some medical problems whch require me to be on oxygen, so no smoking, pets, or woodstoves. However, I am desperate to find either housing for myself that I can afford. Preferably in Eagle River, or close to the highway leading to Eagle River as my doctors, etc are all in ER.

I would consider being a roomate if the situation was tolerable for me and you as well. I am not looking to take advantage of anyone, just been looking for a month now for housing and don't seem to be finding any. I need help finding a 2 bedroom rental unit. I am a housing choice voucher holder and there is an inspection required on the unit and some papers to be filled out by myself and the landlord. Once the paperwork is approved they will pay a portion of my rent directly to the landlord. In the unpredictable situation that my income is lost or reduced, AHFC will pay the full rent agreed upon in the "year" lease. I am an excellent tenant. i always leave properties in better condition than when i moved in. My situation right now is difficult. I secured a unit which is seemingly nice and gave the landlord the full rent and deposit since the property had not been inspected by AHFC yet. by looking at it i didn't see that being a problem. The landlord was well aware that i am on section 8 and would require the inspection. I found minor things that would make the unit fail and fixed them like missing outlet face plates and screws and a broken plug in an outlet. However this unit often has COLD water and stay about 60degrees inside even though i have turned the thermostat up to 90. The windows have sealed shut and have ice in the tracks and thick build up around the frame and water leakin in the window sill. the other day there was a bubble of water under the paint which leaked down the side of the wall and absorbed into the dry wall. there is also an electrical short in the kitchen light fixture. I have contacted the landlord for his assistance and to fix this stuff. He just told me nobody else complains and i am a complainer and he said i should go live in a hotel and he gives me 15days move. I am definately paid through the month and he has my deposit i also did a deep cleaning move in on this unit since it was dirty to me it has a value of at least $350. Right now... i guess i need to find a suitable unit. i like to have a washer/dryer inside the unit, top floor, large windows big ceilings and cable would be great. if anybody has any information for me or suggestions please email me. thank you. P.S. i am not really a "complaining" tenant. i did not call for every instance that i was cold or did have no hot water... i always wait to call at a respectable time. Currently i am freezing i have the oven on an hooded sweatshirt.

I moved up here in Aug to stay with family, but the landlord 'wants to remodel' so he is forcing them from their property as of Dec 1.

I am single, quiet, friendly, have some medical problems whch require me to be on oxygen, so no smoking, pets, or woodstoves. However, I am desperate to find either housing for myself that I can afford in Eagle River, or close to the highway leading to Eagle River as my doctors, etc are all in ER.

I would consider being a roomate if the situation was tolerable for me and you as well. I am looking for **EITHER** a nicer, more modern, more spacious (perhaps washer in unit, garage) and also quiet --condo, townhouse, home, apartment or cabin (willing to accept "no view") in the nicer parts of town, such as Southside & vicinity **OR** potentially, a more rustic, older, & even smaller cabin, apartment, or home --but "with" a view-- also around the Southside vicinity (or even toward Potter Creek or Bird Point).

I have seen a few options so far and realize that one usually excludes the other (view vs. luxury). I would prefer the view, but would settle for the nicety. (I presently live in Midtown, overlooking Minnesota Drive. Need I say more?)

I work at the Department of Commerce with the staff of the Alaska Board of Nursing and spend my private time studying, praying and writing.

I am looking for a apartment or duplex that will allow me to take my small dog who is only 15 pounds and a cat who is very much part of our family she is 9 years old and we don't want to give up our animals. I have to move from my current apartment due to my landlord remodeling my unit. It was very last minute and very sad I have been here for going on 16 months and had no interest in moving at all. My fiance and I are looking for a beautiful, cozy, unique home to rent beginning January 1. We are two working professionals in our 30s (no kids) who are moving up to Anchorage from Portland, Oregon. We would ideally like to be in West Anchorage (Turnagain, Bootleggers Cove, etc.), Midtown or near the Park Strip, Hillside, Rabbit Creek, or Eagle River -- but we'll also consider anything else in South Anchorage, as we aren't entirely familiar with that area. Our ideal find is a 2+ bedroom single-family home with a nice kitchen (I love to cook) and a fenced yard or a little bit of acreage in a safe neighborhood. 4WD-accessible in winter is okay, as we both grew up in the mountains driving in snow and have snow-ready vehicles.

We both love the outdoors and are avid downhill skiers, runners, hikers, and road bikers. Neither of us are smokers. We do have a dog, a 7 year-old black lab, and he is an extremely well-behaved, mellow, friendly guy who is house-broken and won't chew on your door-frames. We are willing to put down an additional pet deposit for him. We own a home ourselves in Oregon and are very respectful of what it takes to maintain a home, so we will be respectful and responsible in renting yours.

Ideally, it would be great to find a fairly modern, new-ish one bedroom, or a slightly older townhouse. Location doesn't matter TOO much, as long as the commute to my office off of Tudor is not too awful.

I'm a young, quiet, business professional that spends most of my time away from home working, volunteering, or visiting family out of town. The places I have checked out so far are full of loud partiers or loud families, or they are in sketchy neighborhoods.

I'm flexible on a lot of this, including rent, if the place is right. I'm just not seeing a lot of well-maintained rentals out there, which is disappointing.
