My fiance and I are looking for a beautiful, cozy, unique home to rent beginning January 1. We are two working professionals in our 30s (no kids) who are moving up to Anchorage from Portland, Oregon. We would ideally like to be in West Anchorage (Turnagain, Bootleggers Cove, etc.), Midtown or near the Park Strip, Hillside, Rabbit Creek, or Eagle River -- but we'll also consider anything else in South Anchorage, as we aren't entirely familiar with that area. Our ideal find is a 2+ bedroom single-family home with a nice kitchen (I love to cook) and a fenced yard or a little bit of acreage in a safe neighborhood. 4WD-accessible in winter is okay, as we both grew up in the mountains driving in snow and have snow-ready vehicles.

We both love the outdoors and are avid downhill skiers, runners, hikers, and road bikers. Neither of us are smokers. We do have a dog, a 7 year-old black lab, and he is an extremely well-behaved, mellow, friendly guy who is house-broken and won't chew on your door-frames. We are willing to put down an additional pet deposit for him. We own a home ourselves in Oregon and are very respectful of what it takes to maintain a home, so we will be respectful and responsible in renting yours.

Ideally, it would be great to find a fairly modern, new-ish one bedroom, or a slightly older townhouse. Location doesn't matter TOO much, as long as the commute to my office off of Tudor is not too awful.

I'm a young, quiet, business professional that spends most of my time away from home working, volunteering, or visiting family out of town. The places I have checked out so far are full of loud partiers or loud families, or they are in sketchy neighborhoods.

I'm flexible on a lot of this, including rent, if the place is right. I'm just not seeing a lot of well-maintained rentals out there, which is disappointing.

I own a home in a ski resort town in New Hampshire, two and a half hours north of Boston Ma. in the middle of the Presidential Range, of the White Mt.s. The ski resort in town is Loon Mt., Lincoln or North Woodstock N.H.,, Its a cooperative of two towns,,,,, twenty min. away is Cannon Mt., where Body Miller grew up skiing and still resides. 35 min. away is Waterville Valley ski resort. Tons of outdoor activity, work, schools, etc. Gorgeous part of the country. I am interested in doing a swap for a place in Anchorage, or Kenai peninsula, or any where interesting in Alaska that may be fun. This could be year round or seasonal, I am up for suggestions. I am in Anchorage now and no one is in my place in N.H. The house is located on Main Street, one bedroom could be two, 3/4 bath, electric heat, covered parking for one car under huge deck, that is covered, brand new kitchen, partially furnished. Loon is 10 mins away and you can see South Mt. from back porch or deck. Its on Main st, so the shuttle bus to Mt. stops a min. away. Post office, bank, stores, brew pup, restaurants all within 5 mins. Think about it, I have friends that own a ski shop and restaurants on the strip so I can make introductions for work,, etc, Home could be a great retail location to. Lots of options.. Think about it, more light, lots of lift access.

ME: My name is Mark, and I am looking to move into Anchorage from Chugiak to eliminate the daily commute to work, and am looking for something that would be relatively long term- as in 1-2 years.

I am 54/GAY/single and NOT looking for a lover, partner, "friend w/benefits" situation, or anything of that nature. Just looking for a low-key, quiet, place to call home; and one that is DRAMA FREE.
Would like to find a place that is at least gay-friendly, but not necessarily gay themselves... although that would be nice.

I like my privacy but am not anti-social, as I do like chatting over a good meal, great cup of coffee, or a good micro-brew; and I like small social gatherings of close friends or family.

I am neat and clean, but not obssesively so. In other words... I do clean up after myself, but, it wont be "operating room" sterile.

I prefer a place without kids as their energy and noise levels are a bit much for me after a while. Don't get me wrong here... I like kids, just don't want them around me all of the time at home.

I smoke pipes and an occasional cigar; and do smoke outside at both home and work.

I do NOT abuse drugs/alcohol, and am definitely NOT a partier. Also, I am NOT 420 friendly... in regards to myself. However, what YOU do in the privacy of your own space is YOUR business.

I am also a pet owner. I have a Golden Retriever /Yellow Lab mix who is my big, baby boy (neutered). He is 9 1/2 y/o, I have had him for 8 1/2. He weighs 110#, and is a certified floor/bed/couch patato. He likes his chew toys, food bowl (especially when it's full!), and is overly friendly with people and other nice dogs. Does not do so well with cats as he thinks he likes to chase them (but is waaay too old/slow to catch them). He usually spends most of the day snoozing either on my bed or the love-seat until I get home from work; or out in the yard if the weather isn't too cold for him.

I am currently employed full-time: Mon - Fri 1pm to 930/1030-pm.

I am a student at Texas Tech University, and my wife is transferring to UAA. I am currently looking for a Civil Engineering or Construction job in the Anchorage area, but have had little luck so far. We are looking for a place to live that meets our needs and our budget.

I will list our needs/budget/qualities in an easy-to-read format.

Priority #1: We have a very well behaved 70 pound German Shepherd. We will NOT get rid of her.
A no pets policy is DEFINITELY a deal killer. A yard is not required, but is preferred.
Priority #2: Gas is expensive, so we would prefer a place that is within a 30 minute drive of UAA.
Priority #3: Rent prior to bills needs to be less than $1000.
If bills are included, we can handle up to $1300 per month.

Quality #1: We are both non-smokers.
Quality #2: We are quiet, and prefer quiet surroundings.
Quality #3: We have a good rental history.
We have never missed a payment or had a check bounce.

I'm having a terrible time finding a place to live in Anchorage that will allow my dog, that is in my budget, and that isn't a total dump. Luckily, my friend has offered to let me use her very nice 35' RV for the next month or so while I continue looking.

Now all I need is a place to park it! Will not need water hook-ups, but do need a place to plug in the electric. The RV runs heat off of propane, so it will not add a huge amount to your power bill. Rent is negotiable, but if I can't find anything a good bit under $550 I will just stay at Creekwood RV. Prefer some place with a yard or other area for me to let Muppet the labradoodle out. (I clean up after her!) If you don't have Wifi, I would look into getting it if that's something you would be interested in. (I need it for work.)

We are a couple from Anchorage and have lived in Haines Alaska for 6 years on a mountainside above the ocean. We lose access to our home due to snow every year. We come back to Anchorage to work as a teacher and a custom woodworker every year. We are mid-thirties, outdoor lovers, health-concious non-smokers, very quiet, no parties, no kids, no pets. Commercial regional pilot and customer service rep here, both permenantly employed, looking for a 2 bedroom unit. We prefer a small complex (duplex-fourplex), condo, or house. We require washer and dryer in unit (I have skin allergies), two parking spaces, and one cat okay. All three of us (two people and cat) can provide recent rental references and history of completed leases. We are very respectful of property and neighbors, just looking for a nice quiet clean place to call home. Our cat is female, spayed, around three years old, and has current shots. I can provide any vet records you need to that effect. Cat is very well behaved and even walks on leash; she's quite the character.

We are currently on a budget of about $1000 a month combined due a job requirement for one of us to have a residence in Anchorage and Fairbanks for the winter. We prefer a place close to the airport since we both work in the area. Please no single rooms for rent or house share offers; we arn't looking for a roommate at this time.
