I have for sale a 1997 Honda CBR1100xx Blackbird. I have had this bike for over two years and it has never disappointed me. While the Blackbird is a big bike meant for experienced riders, it is nimble and fast; it eats up corners and is capable of stunning straight line performance. In the words of writer and motorcycle enthusiast Hugo Wilson: "The Blackbird combines the punch of a boxer with the manners of an English butler". I have had the pleasure of taking several road trips on this machine, and can honestly say that the 'Bird is perfectly comfortable cruising at 100mph for as long as you want (you will have to stop for gas sooner or later though). Since I bought this bike I have run only Amsoil synthetic motorcycle oil in it, and changed it every 2k miles. The bike has 30k miles on the clock. The only bummer about this bike is that it has a salvage title. I don't know what happened to it, but I can tell you that it runs and rides great and goes down the road straight. In addition to handling like a dream, this thing accelerates hard enough to pull the bars out of your fingers and stops fast enough to make you wish you did pushups more regularly. So you have a vintage bike, hasn't run in 20 years you say? Usually it is carb or electrical bugs, and it just seems too much of a hassle to get it going- but that is not true! Guerilla customs has resurrected many bikes from the "dead" just this year alone. 1983 VF750 F, 1982 KZ 750, 1975 Z1 900 and the list goes on. Not one bike cost more than 1k dollars to get out of the shop, running, and street worthy (not including new battery or tires, they are their own expense I am afraid). We like all bikes, all styles, and no job is too big or too small! We specialize in fixing electrical bugs, the #1 cause of a motorcycle being leaned up in the back yard against an old shed. This is a great bike and the only reason I'm selling is that, every time I go to town, I have to haul something back and it is just not getting enough use to validate keeping it. Its a fast bike ( I've had it up to 135mph at about 4500 rpm with more power in reserve) that was purchased in AZ which is where all but about 100 miles were put on.
Its set up with a Power Commander and aftermarket straight pipes. It has been babied since new with all maintenance completed on time or early. The only thing wrong with it is one of the rear taillights which was broken by the moving company ( A $52.00 part through Xtreme Motorsports)
