Thank you for all you do! It is unclear to me why this has become a debatable issue on CL, but I for one would like to thank all the volunteers from the rescue groups - as well as the organizers. For most of us your time, energy, effort, and obligation to the greater good does not go unnoticed or unappreciated. It is unrealistic to think that the work doesn't have a financial burden; pets are not 'free' for whoever cares for them, and it is appropriate to expect to contribute to the organization that rescued your pet - thus ensuring that other pets can be rescued.
There are lots of thankful, happy dogs out there as well as thankful, happy dog owners as a result of your efforts. Sometimes with all the negativity that gets posted it is hard to realize, but rest assured you are changing the lives and fates of dogs for the better! I am the proud owner of a rescue dog that I got as a puppy over 8 years ago. Lucky for me, he happened to be the greatest dog in the world :) ! I can not imagine my life with out him - and without rescue groups like yours we never would have had the opportunity to share our lives together, so thanks and keep up the great work!
We are a community of folks who care about pets - please let's try to withhold our personal negative judgements and inappropriate adgendas and let's instead support pets finding homes.
