There is a beautiful and super-sweet orange cat at Anchorage Animal Care and Control right now who is needing a home soon. He's the epitome of a lap cat- he could stay there for hours. Perfect for long winter nights.
His name is Sarya, and he's an extremely soft, gentle, neutered male who is all about love. Excellent with children. You'll never see any claws out unless he's kneeding his paws. He doesn't even mind you clipping them yourself. He has excellent litter box habits, and hardly sheds at all. My friend has spent a lot of time with him and doesn't get hardly any cat hairs on his clothes (and he wears black a lot!)

Right now he's got a kitty cold from being in the shelter for too long, but this can easily be cleared up with good care and love. He does need to be rescued soon, though. He might be chosen for euthanasia because of this, which would be awful because he's such a companionable and loving guy.

Sarya's down at the Anchorage animal shelter right now, located in the puppy room. You can ask any volunteer or employee to see him, or email me and I could meet you down there to show him to you. The shelter is open tonight until 6 pm, and until 7 pm on weekdays.
