So many ads on here are truly sad with colloquial terms such as "re-home" "adopt" or the best euphemism yet looking for his or her " forever home."
If you read these ads most are placed by upper level middle income families with these excuses for giving away their beloved bowzer or meowzer,
such as " we have three kids and with soccer, spas and wine tasting we just cannot find the time to play with foufou anymore." And then there are the military folks who should have known they could not commit to a pet but just had to get that husky or malemute while stationed in Ak but now have to go overseas... thus most go to the pound year after year. Then there are those who want to make money off purebreds but cannot advertise legally so they say re-homing fee after they have already bonded with the pet... Further there are those who simply are bored of their pet either because the excitement of the puppy thing wore off and/or it has now become a "senior dog." Yet another code word for get rid of fluffy or snowball... These ads only exemplify a bigger moral evil in our society; how we treat the vulnerable such as animals, children, the elderly, the sick etc.... If we cannot even commit to taking care of a four legged animal for the rest of their lives (with the exception of those who are really ill or just too poor to do so), is it any wonder why children are getting abused at an alarming rate, our senior citizen's are discarded and when a wife or husband gets boring well there's always those CL ads...I myself have traveled all over the world and U.S., gone to graduate school and back, been ill, been rich, poor, and everything in between and amazingly held onto my dog who is still well loved, nourished, and seen a vet on a regular basis. You know why???? Because I made her a priority and thought there was moral value in keeping her although sometimes difficult because animals and people should not be used as our own disposable toys. So please b4 you adopt a pet think about if you will commit to this pet, if not go buy yourself a stuffed animal...
