Dates are tentative, possibly leaving TX the 20th of OCT.

Feel bad not giving someone a ride if they need one. I can make extra room in my car, but will need to know ASAP so can get a good idea of what the situation will be like.

I'm driving a mini SUV (possibly w/ trailer) and will be having a puppy along for the ride. Should be a good time. I"m a very independent person, love nature, ecovillages, music, permaculture, puppets, cordage, self-help books, and driving to alaska, my potential homeland.

The deal:

You will pay based apon how long you ride. No checks. Your amount will work out to be about 20 cents for every mile you ride with me. So if you ride with me for 200 miles, it's 40 bucks. The price may be negotiable. Please let me know where it is you are going so that I may post an ad in another city later on to help offset costs.

You may bring luggage but not too much - I have my life with me more or less and their will only be so much room in the trunk and back seat, especially if more than one person is riding with me.

You must also either be a smoker, or be somebody who can deal with me smoking on the trip. This is serious. I do not want somebody 3 hours into the trip asking me not to smoke cause it makes them sick. If it does make you sick, this is not the ride for you.

Be prepared to take your time. I rushed through the Alcan last time and I'd like to experience it a bit more in depth. Also, the weather is rougher in November there so I will not be flooring it as many of the truckers do. Last thing I want to be remembered for is dying in Canada, I don't know why, I'm just weird like that.

You will share driving responsibilities. I prefer driving my own car, but in the interest of overall time - I'd like to take as few breaks as possible. I can live on 4 to 6 hours of sleep so that will pretty much be what I'm asking for from you in terms of drive time.

Ok, I think that is about it.

I have a small car (Chevy Cavalier) and on the way up here, I averaged 31mpg. This translates into somewhere between 450-600$ for fuel divided. (AlCan prices are somewhere around 6-7$ a gallon, currently!)

There will be about half a backseat for your luggage (maybe more, maybe less) but you will also have to share the ride with a cat who will want to sit on your lap.
