Charles Gause, an Alaskan artist known for his Iditarod and historical maritime themed works.
“Charles Gause discovered his passion for the arts during his youth in Yakima, Washington. Before his relocation to Alaska, Gause pursued formal education in design and art history at Yakima Valley College. In the spring of 1975, he traveled north to Fairbanks and found employment on the North Slope for the Trans-Alaska pipeline project. Seeking a lifestyle that allowed for time and inspiration in his creative work, he left the slope and eventually settled in Eagle River with his wife, Joyce, where he focused on capturing realistic Alaskan landscapes, wilderness themes, and the Iditarod trail.”
