Decorative organ pipes - $100 (Midtown Anchorage)

Decorative organ pipes 1 thumbnailDecorative organ pipes 2 thumbnailDecorative organ pipes 3 thumbnail
condition: good
Decorative, vintage organ pipes on display, thought to be from the first theatre organ to come to Alaska. Reportedly, the organ was brought to Juneau by steamship from Seattle in the early 1900s, and may have been installed in a theatre there (not the Palace (Central) theatre.) Later, it was installed in a church. While the church was undergoing renovation, the organ was being reinstalled when the church burned. Only these pipes had not been reinstalled. Apparently, a man in Palmer obtained the pipes and intended to make a continuo (portable) organ out of them and made a keyboard. The project was not completed, and the pipes have remained in display as shown. Cash only. The elegant keyboard is for sale separately.
