Summary The Front of House Manager is responsible for the success of Front of House operations. They are responsible for hiring, training, and the productivity of the Front of House team. This person also oversees the success of the bar and coffeehouse departments. They should motivate departments on sales building, developing relationships with staff and guests, and ongoing development of the Front of House staff.

Staff Relations Provide positive and constructive feedback to all staff Support Front of House supervisors in coaching and completing timely evaluations Lead the team by example and know when and how to support staff Set the tone: energy up and out, and encourage teamwork Maintain employee morale for all staff Support the Back of House management team as needed
Operations Monitor food quality and follow up with the kitchen team as needed Maintain labor budget within department goals and phase staff accordingly Ensure all staff have current certifications on file Builds schedules for the Front of House department based on anticipated projections Ensure weekly and daily side work is completed efficiently and effectively Lead the hiring process, which includes interviewing, reference checks, scheduling new hire appointments with HR, and completing orientations for new staff Maintains training procedures for all Front of House positions Is on the floor, monitoring employee and guest interaction, ensuring the dining room looks orderly, and ensuring that food going out to tables is up to our standards Can perform opening and closing duties Document staff and operations issues in daily logs and follow up on issues from prior shifts Communicate the expectations and needs of staff
Guest Relations Set a standard for staff to welcome all guests Come from a place of yes Advocate for the guest and has a willingness to “make it right” Handle guest complaints and feedback promptly Constantly interact with guests at the table Proactively resolve issues and ensure a delightful guest experience
Knowledge/Skills Can step in and perform any Front of House position Has in-depth knowledge of menu, ingredients, cooking methods, and allergens Assists in troubleshooting issues with staff and guests Knowledgeable in maintenance and troubleshooting of the POS system
Work Environment Fast-paced restaurant environment
Position Type This is a full-time position with a minimum of 45 hour work week requirement.
Other Qualifications Must be at least 21 years of age Must be able to communicate, write, and understand English Must possess basic math skills and be able to operate a cash register and POS system Must have basic knowledge of Google Drive and internet navigation Must have a current Food Worker card and TAM/TIPS card
Physical Requirements The employee is required to stand for extended periods and may occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. Frequently lifts up to 40 pounds. The employee must be able to occasionally lift or move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
