This position is responsible for ensuring that Preferred Hotel Standards are met concerning the cleanliness of the hotel and its grounds. The Janitorial Staff members will carry out additional tasks as detailed by the Janitorial Supervisor. The role includes acknowledging all patrons appropriately and assisting with information and/or special requests as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
o Report directly to the Janitorial Supervisor regarding daily tasks and cleanliness standards
o Coordinate with the Front Office Manager to ensure the cleanliness of hotel rooms
o Work with the Security Department to adhere to security procedures
o Maintain a cooperative attitude towards job responsibilities and interactions with other personnel within the Janitorial
Department and throughout the hotel
o Perform snow removal from sidewalks as required.
o Always adhere to safety policies and procedures
o Conform to hotel cleanliness standards and protocols
o Coordinate with the PBX Department regarding guest requests and needs
o Be physically fit and capable of lifting up to 50lbs
o Work various 8-hour shifts while standing
o Perform other duties as assigned by the Janitorial Supervisor
Minimum Education
o High School diploma or GED equivalent required
Minimum Experience
o Prior janitorial experience preferred, with at least one year in hotel “back of the house” operations
Skills/Abilities
o Courteous, patient, and cooperative attitude toward job responsibilities and other personnel
o Professional appearance and polite demeanor required
o Effective communication skills, including speaking, listening, and reading in English
