Garcia's Grill is looking for dependable, hardworking Cooks to join our team! If you enjoy working in a fast-paced kitchen, take pride in preparing great food, and work well with others, we'd love to meet you.
As a Cook, you'll be responsible for preparing menu items according to Garcia's recipes and quality standards while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen. You'll play an important role in delivering fresh, delicious food quickly and consistently to every guest.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook menu items according to Garcia's recipes and presentation standards.
Set up and stock stations with all necessary ingredients and supplies before each shift.
Ensure all food is prepared quickly while maintaining quality and consistency.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department guidelines.
Properly store, rotate, and label food using FIFO (First In, First Out) practices.
Keep workstations, equipment, and kitchen areas clean and organized throughout each shift.
Assist with prep work, including chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and preparing sauces and other menu items.
Communicate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Monitor food quality and notify management of any product or equipment issues.
Help with receiving deliveries, stocking inventory, and minimizing food waste.
Perform opening, closing, and daily cleaning duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Previous restaurant or fast-casual cooking experience preferred, but we're willing to train the right person.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques and safe food handling practices.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
