I have a nice very well made fireplace insert that I picked up years ago and never got around to using and doubt that I now will, so am selling it as is. It needs glass for the door, gaskets, a variable speed switch, but seems structurally in very good condition. I would let it go as is for $100.00 cash, but if you look at a new unit, they seem to be running about $1,000.00 up. This one has two electric fan blower motors which I have tested, and they work. It could use a variable speed switch for the blower motors and likely new gasket material around the door and fan motors, as well as ceramic glass for the door which is available through Speedy Glass and others, or I have two pieces that could be cut down I would think, but I am not familiar with high heat glass. Gasket material is available through Dan, Dan The Fireplace Man, AK Alaska Fireplace and Accessories out in the Valley in Palmer and Wasilla, or there is a dealer in Anchorage from what I am told. The variable speed switch should be available through Brown's Electric and probably others. It looks to be a very efficient unit and can be used with or without the electric motors I am told, and the place I got it from had no gas or electric anywhere near. Fireplace inserts take in air at the bottom from either convention, or electric blowers, run the clean room air through the sealed tubes under, around and on top of the fire in a fireplace and pass the now heated air out the upper vents rather than most of it going up the chimney. If you have looked at the cost of a new unit like this, they aren't inexpensive at all and I checked prices and found 7 new units ranging from $1,300.00 to $2,100.00 with an average of the 7 to be just short of $1,600.00 so I believe this is a very fair price as it is, even though it does need new glass, a variable speed switch, and gaskets, and even if I restored it myself and afar more for it, it would still be a deal. Again, it will need new glass for the door and a variable speed switch, as well as gasket material, and the wood handle for the door, which could be made easy enough, but I have now cleaned up the outside and put a 1200 degree Hi Heat paint on it The more I work on it, the higher will be the cost and I do not believe there is anything other than mentioned above that is missing or needed to put this unit back in service, but I am not that familiar with fireplace inserts. I would also strongly suggest you check with a mason or someone more familiar with fireplace inserts and Fireplaces before considering it. It should be no problem to build a fireplace to fit up this unit if you are considering building a house, or if it fits your existing fireplace, it should be an easy install or modification, but again, I am not an expert on these units, but have been told they are very efficient, far more than just a fireplace or wood stove.

This unit also has a manufacturer model and number of FAE-PRE - 36. Not sure of that, but it clearly states WELENCO on the front. So maybe the FAE-PRE is the manufacturer and it was built for WELENCO. WELENCO is still in business. What with the unit being at least 40 years old, anything is possible.

Give me a call or e-mail if interested, there may not be a lot of people looking to put one in their existing fireplace right now or that are planning on building a new fireplace, but when the person who needs this sees it, I would think it will go in a heartbeat. The dimensions it looks like it will need to go in are as follows, 20" high, 35 1/2" wide, and 18" deep. I am ignorant about fireplaces, but I would think that is a standard size or they would not have built a Heatilator to fit inside with these dimensions. Again, you may have a fireplace this size, or if you are building, you could built to suit. I know when I got it, the place it was in did not have gas, nor power nearby, but I would not at all be surprised if this could use either gas or wood, but the previous owner would have had to use wood I should think as gas was not available in that area back then.
