Wisdom Traditions Counseling Services, LLC

Wisdom Traditions Counseling Services is now hiring for a full-time counselor. This position will provide outpatient services to clients in our Alaska Wisdom Recovery program. Wisdom emphasizes holistic and individualized care and takes a strong family-systems approach to treatment.

This position will provide clinical and case management services to clients in our programs as part of an interdisciplinary team. This position is responsible for administrative, clinical, and evaluative activities that bring the client, treatment services, and other resources to focus on issues and needs identified in the individual treatment plan. This involves collaboration with the client and significant others, coordination of treatment services, and ongoing evaluation of treatment progress and client needs.

The prime candidate will have experience working with mental health, dual-diagnoses, and substance use disorder populations. Experience should include:

Individual Counseling
Group Counseling
Patient and family-system psycho education
Marriage & family counseling
Adolescent counseling
Strong assessment/evaluation and treatment planning skills
Be trained and experienced in Trauma-Informed Care
Be trained and experienced with a dual diagnosis clientele

Requirements: candidates must meet the following requirements of degree/certification:

Hold a bachelor's degree in a related field, be certified as a Chemical Dependency Counselor with the State of Alaska, and have a minimum 4 years of experience providing substance use treatment;
OR

Hold an advanced degree (masters or doctoral level) in psychology, social work, counseling, or similar field with experience providing counseling services. Preference will be given to applicants who are a licensed clinician in the State of Alaska (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, Psychologist). If not yet licensed, must be willing to work toward licensure within 2 years.

The office is open Monday through Friday and this position requires working some evening shifts.
