Duties
Greet patients warmly, check them in and out efficiently, and manage appointment scheduling using EMR (Electronic Medical Records).
Collect comprehensive patient intake information, including medical history and insurance details, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Prepare examination rooms with proper aseptic technique, sterilize equipment, and assist in maintaining a clean, safe environment for both patients and staff.
Support optometrists during eye exams by performing preliminary tests, capturing visual acuity measurements, and assisting with specialized procedures.
Manage medical records meticulously, including documentation of clinical notes, medical coding, billing procedures, and updating patient files accurately.
Qualifications
Prior experience in medical office settings or clinic environments is highly preferred; familiarity with EMR systems a plus but not necessary.
Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology related to ophthalmology or optometry is essential for effective patient support.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
Experience with intake procedures, vital signs measurement, and aseptic technique demonstrates readiness for clinical responsibilities.
Proven ability to handle front desk duties including scheduling, retail sales, cash handling using retail math skills, and managing medical records efficiently.
Excellent communication skills to interact compassionately with diverse patient populations including pediatrics; ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

I am looking for someone who is a team player. Must have good work ethic and self-starter. Duties will include but not limited to: Pre-testing of patients, scheduling, billing, verifying insurance benefits, ordering materials/etc., medical history taking, exam room setup, instruction of new contact lens wearers, general cleaning and general office duties as needed. Experience is helpful but not necessary. Applicant Must be competent using a computer, organized, good at multitasking, team player, and great with people. Full-time position available. Pay commensurate with experience.
Work Days to include Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday 930am to 6 pm. Some weeks alternate Mon instead of Saturday.
