The Steward is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and surrounding areas. Primary duties include washing dishes, operating the dishwasher in the main dish pit, and returning clean dishes to their appropriate locations. The Steward also cleans kitchen equipment, including prep sinks, handwashing sinks, grills, and fryers, refills paper towels and soap at handwashing stations, takes out kitchen trash, and ensures kitchen floors are cleaned to maintain a safe and sanitary environment. The hours for this position are overnight from 9:00 pm- 5:00 am.
Minimum Education
o High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Minimum Experience
o Required to have a valid Municipality Food Handler’s Certification
Skills/Abilities
o Previous experience in kitchen maintenance and cleaning preferred
o Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
o Maintain a clean and professional appearance
o Proficient ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
o Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness in a dynamic kitchen environment
o Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required to meet management and hotels needs
o Physical fitness and ability to lift up to 50lbs regularly
