Keeping the studio clean is a core part of everything we do. The Turnagain Ceramics janitorial team helps us serve our customers by cleaning the studio spaces during off-hours times, typically between 9pm and 10am. A janitorial shift is 3-4 hours.
We are looking for a self-directed, hardworking individual (or pair) to help keep our studio clean! If you’re interested in pottery and/or have janitorial experience, that’s a plus too!
Schedule:
Thursday - Sunday
Timing flexible between 9pm and 10am
Job Summary:
The Studio Janitor is focused on keeping the studio clean and organized. After the studio is closed, or before it’s open, and the studio space is quieter, the janitorial team refreshes the studio space. The Studio Janitor completes a combination of daily cleaning tasks such as mopping floors and cleaning tables, and deep cleaning and other specific tasks such cleaning sinks and sediment traps.
The work completed by the Studio Janitor is critical to the success of Turnagain Ceramics overall mission.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Mopping studio floors and wiping down and cleaning all table, shared shelving, walls, and other non-floor surfaces
Swapping 1 gallon & 3 gallon wash buckets and taking out trash
Washing rags, aprons, and other laundry
Organizing and tidying up community tools and equipment
Completing various weekly deep cleaning assignments such as cleaning sinks, pottery wheel areas, tool storage shelves, etc.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent attention to detail when completing all cleaning tasks
Strong task management and organizational skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Education and Experience:
6+ months of related experience is preferred
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 25-50 pounds repeatedly
