condition: new
make / manufacturer: DIY
model name / number: Alaska custom
I was building a custom yurt, when I realized I didn't have time to dedicate to finish it (bigger project than expected.) That said, I am selling my custom built compression ring, khana lathe, khana rope, tension cable, khana bolts and blueprints for the 32-footer I designed. The blueprints include templates for the rafter ends (rafters not included) as well as other details for door/window sections to be framed. This yurt was going to have 9'-3" tall finished khana height, to allow for extra room in the interior loft space we planned to build.) Design includes plans for DIY toono (yurt top/dome) with a woodstove collar thru the center.

The most robust, manufactured yurts available are currently made by Nomad Shelters, in Homer. They khana lathe they use are 7/8" thick, and I have made these just a touch thicker to accommodate the taller wall height. Additionally, the lathe spacing I used was tighter than Nomad, to increase the ability of the lathe to handle wind/snow load/stress.

The asking price doesn't account for the immense amount of time to build the plan drawings, compression ring, cutting of the khana lathe, drilling of the khana lathe holes, and the partially assembled khana section, etc.

Not included:
* foundation
* rafters
* cover
* insulation
* doors/windows

Included:
* khana lathe
* bolts for khana lathe (to use in place of rope if preferred)
* rope for khana lathe (could use bolts instead if preferred)
* 6-foot diameter compression ring (this is heavy)
* steel tension cable with turnbuckles for compression ring and top of khana
* blueprints for complete construction (including rafter templates, custom toono and wall section framing details)

I'm sure there is more, but presently can't recall what else I have. This will need a trailer to haul, or at least a 12-ft bed, since the khana lathe are 12-feet long. It is recommended to check out the following resources when considering a yurt (especially in our northern climate.) There are so many resources out there for yurts now, but we found the following two sources of information to be extremely helpful.

* Foxfire Heritage Farm has a great khana/lath video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rpm3JPb5sDs

This is a cash only, in person only, sale. Please provide your name and number when contacting me so I can be sure to get in touch.
Asking $2500 or best offer. If you have something of similar value to offer, hit me up and we'll go from there.

Thanks for looking!
