I've been getting these crazy calls ever since I listed this house next to a park. These dogs keep calling me to see if it's still available (it is.) Help me out here dog owners---if you have a dog and you're looking for a new home---check out this charming vintage house in a private, woodsy setting that has been refreshed with new interior paint, carpet, and other updates. It has a newer kitchen with maple cabinets and stainless appliances. Newer boiler too. The lot is bordered by wooded city and parkland on 2 sides. It's got the kind of location that is getting very rare to find these days- and it's (still) available at a very affordable price. In fact the price compares with many townhouse condos in cramped development areas. And the park is quite literally 15 feet out the back door.
This home is located in Woodland Park, which is one of the neighborhoods that was homesteaded long ago, then platted right after Alaska statehood. This area has a quiet, almost "sleepy feeling" to it, but there is new construction and remodeling happening all over around here. Drive through this Fish Creek area neighborhood and you'll see cool retro remodels taking place on older homes---right alongside brand new homes by reputable Alaskan builders.
The yard offers plenty of room for parking fishing boats, RVs, work vans, campers, etc. if you need it. So you'll never have to pay for storage of those items somewhere else. And there are no pesky HOA committees telling you what you can do with your home----like maybe having that air B'N'B that you've been thinking about. And being up against the park-- it's like having a 40 acre back yard---without paying the extra thousands in city property taxes on a parcel that size. Peace, privacy, nature, more room, more freedom. Access to nice walking trails. It's all here.
Top schools in the area include Turnagain Elementary (with it's popular Russian Language Immersion Program) and Romig Middle School and West High. And if convenience matters to you- this one is convenient to midtown offices and just a few minutes drive to the airport. And from this area you can be to the UMED or downtown in 10 minutes flat. And the price really can't be beat - for a house on a large duplex zoned lot - next to all that beautiful and natural parkland. You could say it's a very nice house----at a townhouse condo price. The property is zoned for a duplex- if you wanted to convert it to that later. And it would make an incredible Air B and B location too...the kind that you'd be called "lucky" that you found. But luck really has little to do with it---right?
Need more incentive to buy your dog a new home? The seller is willing to pay up to $7000 of Buyer closing Costs. (That's pretty much all of them.) It makes buying this house very very affordable- even if you haven't saved up all the cash that you will need to buy a place of your own right now.
The seller would like to sell the home asap - and is willing to consider all reasonable offers.
If you've been looking for a charming and vintage home in a private, woodsy setting, and one where you've got that parks and trails access thing nailed down...this should be at the top of your list for ones to see. And this could be the perfect time to act. Certainly your dog thinks so. He's been calling me every day to see if it's still available.
So why don't you call me (or contact any licensed Realtor) and do a quick viewing today?
