Job Description:
We are seeking experienced Commercial Mechanical Insulators for prevailing wage projects in the Anchorage area. Work includes installation of mechanical insulation systems on commercial and industrial projects including HVAC ductwork, chilled water piping, steam systems, process piping, and related equipment.
Candidates must be dependable, safety-focused, and capable of working in demanding commercial construction environments.
Responsibilities:
• Install fiberglass, foam glass, rubber, mineral wool, and other insulation materials
• Measure, cut, fit, and secure insulation around piping, ductwork, tanks, and equipment
• Apply PVC, aluminum, stainless steel, and canvas jacketing systems
• Read blueprints and project specifications
• Maintain OSHA safety standards on active jobsites
• Work effectively with other trades and supervisors
• Perform demolition and replacement of existing insulation when required
Requirements:
• 2+ years of commercial or industrial mechanical insulation experience preferred
• Experience on prevailing wage or Davis-Bacon projects is a plus
• Ability to read tape measure and basic construction drawings
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• OSHA 10 preferred
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work at heights when necessary
