Journeyman Electrician (Anchorage/MatSu Valley)

Position Overview:
As a Journeyman Electrician at Angler Electric, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in accordance with local and national codes. You will work on a variety of projects, ensuring that electrical systems operate safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to take direction, communicate effectively with team members and properly explain technical information to customers in a friendly and helpful manner, and strive to continually grow and improve skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and be able to efficiently perform job duties
• Good understanding of current NEC
• Safe work practices
• Ability to read and understand plan sets
• Good understanding of wiring, circuitry, troubleshooting, basic residential controls, and general electrical construction
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including time sheets and material usage
• Provide mentorship and guidance to apprentices
• Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members to ensure smooth project completion
Qualifications:
• Current State of Alaska Certificate of Fitness
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, blueprints, and schematics
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Valid driver’s license
• Must have own tools specific to the electrical trade
