Job Summary & Requirements
The Journeyman Plumber is responsible to maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, installs, remodels, or constructs industrial plumbing systems, various piping systems, hydronic heating systems, various air handling systems, oil burning furnaces, envirovac toilet units, fire pumps, various pumps, and plumbing equipment and systems used in wastewater and water treatment plants..
Provide leadership and education in the zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
Must be able to operate a two-way radio. Must be able to carry out day-to-day activities using professional work habits and skills.
A valid Alaska driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the company's insurance carrier.
Education and Experience
Completion of a formal training program relating to the plumbing industry.
Five years verifiable industrial plumbing experience which demonstrates knowledge of water distribution systems, waste water systems, industrial high volume pumping equipment, gas distribution systems, pressure devices, gas and diesel fired heating systems and furnace appliances, appliances used in industrial kitchens, laundries, and boiler rooms, fire suppression systems, and the state plumbing codes.
Must be licensed to work as a plumber in the State of Alaska. Preference will be given to those with a State Boiler Operators 3rd class license.
